We Get Together to Celebrate Our Club

Every year at the end of September, we enjoy ourselves at the Charter Night dinner at the Delray Beach Golf Club to install new officers and to thank all those members that have given so much to our club.

We also get together for a Holiday Party in December of each year. It's a GREAT time for all!

Kiwanis Sponsored Golf Tournament

  • In August/September we hold the annual “Ed Lonie” & “Hy Seigel” Memorial Golf Tournament.
  • The tournaments bring in much needed revenue to the club, which enables us to continue to donate money  to local schools and needy students.

Annual Sunrise Kiwanis Night Golf Tournament

Another golf tournament usually held in March is the Annual Sunrise Kiwanis Night “Glo-Ball” Golf Tournament at the Delray Beach Golf Club.  This is a 9 hole, 4 man team golf scramble using illuminated golf balls with a shot gun start.  The cost is $50 per person ($200 per team) that includes golf balls, glow sticks, and food.  and is limited to the first 72 players to register.  Instead of being a hole sponsor, you can advertise your business on our sponsor board for $20.  Tim Weldon (441-9772(c)) for additional information.

Delray Affair

The first weekend after Easter, the club participates in the Delray Affair raising money by providing water and soda.  The Delray Affair is three days long and a long three days.   Usually warm and humid, the Kiwanis Sunrise watering hole (or tent) is a pretty popular stop along East Atlantic Avenue.  From 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., dedicated Kiwanians give away bottled water and cans of soda while requesting, but not requiring, recipients of the fluid refreshments to make a small donation “for the kids”.  It should be no surprise that 99% of those who get a drink are happy to contribute.  We raised a goodly amount and enjoyed some great people chatting.
