For Over 50 Years…….We are an eclectic mix of ages, genders, occupations, backgrounds and interests. We are all passionate about making our community and the world a better place for children so they can thrive. We are devoted to serving the children in our local community and also children all across the country and worldwide through unique and innovative service projects and fundraising initiatives.
Delray Beach Kiwanis focuses on helping kids and provides school scholarships and sponsors the local Key Clubs at American Heritage School and Atlantic High School, and the local Builders Clubs at American Heritage School and Unity School, in order to teach students the importance of giving back to the community. We also sponsor the Terrific Kids reward program at Orchard View Elementary.
We provide Thanksgiving turkey dinners and clothing to needy families, we support Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA), Police Officer & Employee of the Quarter Awards, Achievement Centers for Children & Families, The EJS Project, and participate in events such as Relay for Life, the Buddy Walk, Delray Beach Children’s Garden, “Get Our Kids To College” at Atlantic High School and Feed Palm Beach County to name just a few of our service projects. Our club sponsors a Little League Baseball Team and a Softball Team, and provide books through the “Reading Oasis” installed at Orchard View Elementary in Delray Beach.
We also support many other charitable organizations such as: Kiwanis International’s Major Emphasis “The Eliminate Program” to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus in the world, The Florida Kiwanis Children’s Fund & International Kiwanis Foundation, the Horses for the Handicapped, Ronald McDonald House, Forgotten Soldiers, the American Cancer Society, Gold Coast Down Syndrome Association, and the Miracle League.
In the process of giving, members get back too. Members achieve personal satisfaction through service to others. They gain fellowship, information, inspiration, personal and professional development from club meetings and projects. They get to feel good about their contribution to making Delray Beach and surrounding communities just a little better place to live.
Please join us for breakfast at 7:30 am on Wednesday mornings at the Delray Beach Golf Club. The first Thursday of the month we meet at Tim Finnegans Irish Pub at 6:00 pm instead of the morning meeting that week. So, no matter if you prefer morning meetings or early evening meetings, you can still join us and be a part of Kiwanis… …Doing Good….Feeling Good.
